A completely manual environment is also not conducive to business.\nThe latest research shows that what is the most desirable environment is where humans\nand bots work hand in hand together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Humans bring a dynamic to the work\nenvironment that bots have not yet been able to emulate, making person and\nmachine a better combination than one or the other. \u201cArtificial intelligence\nshould be seen as tools that humans in the business use to do their jobs\nbetter,\u201d Ansu says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But this vision of\nhappy co-existence between humans and bots is not going to just fall into\nplace. It is going to take work and commitment to retrain and reskill human\nworkers of today to be ready for the jobs of tomorrow, he says. \u201cWe must train\nthe people on the technology and push them up from manual and repetitive tasks\nto become more creative and add more value.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The question is:\nwill businesses rise to the occasion and do the right thing? Well, Aizatron\u2019s\nclients do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ansu explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very\ninvolved in the automation space where we use artificial intelligence and smart\ntechnology to automate business processes. But as social entrepreneurs who want\nto use technology to solve society\u2019s problems, we approach this from a holistic\nperspective. When we go into an organisation, we don\u2019t just set out to automate\nits business processes but also to train up its human resources to be more\ncreative and function at a higher level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is the\nproposal that we always put forward when we look at automation and artificial\nintelligence. If the organisation doesn\u2019t want to take our training and won\u2019t\nlook at upskilling, we generally won\u2019t take the business, unless they explain\nwhat\u2019s going to happen with these employees, such as moving them to other areas\nof the businesses where that makes sense.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So far, Aizatron\u2019s\ncommitment to automation that does not cost jobs has served it \u2013 and its\nclients \u2013 well. Since opening its doors at the end of 2017, the Cape Town-based\ncompany has grown exponentially, almost doubling its revenues every year and\nincreasing its own employee numbers from a handful to over 35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ansu attributes\nthis growth to the company\u2019s conscious choice to use technology to the broader\nbenefit of South Africans and to anchor its business on its values. \u201cEach of us\nneeds to centre ourselves around something to be productive and contribute,\u201d he\nsays. \u201cFrom a company perspective, we are centred around our values as an\norganisation. If something violates our values, we won\u2019t do it.
