The server you\nrun for your biggest and most important client needs urgent attention but the\nonly people who have access to the server room, yourself included, are out of\nthe office. Your customer service team is panicking.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipulsesystems.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tt100.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iPulse_Logo-Francois-van-Loggerenberg-1024x913.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1619\" width=\"168\" height=\"149\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>You whip out your laptop and, right there in the airport coffee\nshop, grant your trouble-shooters one-time, time-limited access to the server\nroom. Emergency defused, you head for the boarding gate.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs long as you have an internet connection, you can manage your\naccess control from an airport coffee shop, a hotel room, your home \u2013 from\nanywhere in the world,\u201d says Francois van Loggerenberg, Lead Developer and\nProject Manager at iPulse Systems, designers and makers of biometrics systems. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur systems give clients the most granular level of control,\u201d he\nsays. \u201cYou can decide exactly who, when, where, for how long and for what\nreason a person should have access to a particular space. If someone who does\nnot have authority attempts to enter that area, the system will deny them access\nand report the attempt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>While protecting clients from intrusions, the systems also protect\nthe privacy of the people whose fingerprints it records. \u201cPeople rightly want\nthe assurance that their fingerprint is protected and won\u2019t be shared with\nsomeone else,\u201d says Francois. \u201cSo we do not store the image of the fingerprint\nand only extract the identifying data.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n<p>iPulse\u2019s systems are of course smart enough to verify that the\nfingerprint matches the person\u2019s identity, using an encrypted connection and\napplication programming interfaces (APIs) to request validation from either\ntheir own product, BIOVAULT, or from Home Affairs for high level security\nrequirements.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>State of the art all this certainly is, but it\u2019s also extremely\nuser-friendly, Francois says. \u201cUsers are mostly receptionists and security\nofficers with little software experience, so we have cut down on the processes\nthat can cause complications and taken the user experience to the simplest\nlevel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>For example, the fingerprint imaging device automatically\ninteracts with the user to get the best possible image, guarding against blurry\nimages and smudged fingerprints. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s clear as day why this small South African enterprise has\nsucceeded in stamping its name so firmly on the fiercely competitive biometrics\nmarket.
