SVA Holding is the 2018 tt100 large \u00a0enterprise excellence in Management of Innovation category winner   <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Foreseeing\nthe future of risk with 99% accuracy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sva-holdings.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tt100.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/TT100-logo-_-2012-Phindulo-Litshani2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1018\" width=\"222\" height=\"128\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Predictions are\nnotoriously difficult to make and there aren\u2019t too many companies confident\nenough in their forecasting abilities to claim a near-perfect accuracy rate. A\nrare exception is SVA Holdings, an asset protection and risk management company\nwith a track record of being right 99% of the time when forecasting its\nclients\u2019 risk problems \u2013 months and even years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor instance, we can\npredict non-compliance issues in a retailer\u2019s stock-take two and a half years\nin advance. It\u2019s been tried and tested, with 99% accuracy,\u201d says Derick Deyzel,\nchief commercial officer at SVA Holdings.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>However, clients need\nnot wait for any length of time to see the benefits of implementing the\nimprovements SVA suggests when it detects risk or compliance loopholes in their\nsystems or processes, from the supply chain to health and safety. \u201cWe feed back\nto clients in real time so that they are able to make quick decisions about\ntheir risk profiles,\u201d says Derick. \u201cWe are constantly hunting to improve\nprocesses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Technology\ngets it right<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The uncanny accuracy\nof SVA\u2019s risk-related forecasting is rooted firmly in its Infoman technology\nplatform, developed in South Africa and patented in 43 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It all starts with\ngathering the client\u2019s operational data 24 hours a day and feeding this into\nthe SVA platform, where it is weighted, rated, prioritised and escalated\naccording to the client\u2019s risk profile, all in real time and without getting in\nthe client\u2019s way.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cInfoman tells us\nwhen there is a challenge, where it is, who needs to fix it and when this can\nbe achieved,\u201d says Derick. \u201cOur competitors may offer comprehensive audits but\nthey are largely based on historical information. We bring current and more\nrelevant information, right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The benefit of\nreal-time analysis is that the client can take immediate action to correct any\nnon-compliance. If the driver of a logistics company, for instance, deviates\nfrom the approved route, Infoman will pick this up while it is happening and\nalert the client, who can deal with this straight away instead of after the\nfact.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Infoman\nwill pick it up immediately if one branch of a 300-store retail chain is\nneglecting to do the required daily count of high-value items such as TV sets\nand cellphones.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>What SVA\u2019s technology\nalso does extremely well is to adjust and align with the client\u2019s risk policies\nand procedures as these evolve. \u201cIt changes and improves so that it\u2019s as\nrelevant to the business in five years\u2019 time as it is today,\u201d Derick says.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>What likely also\nimpressed the tt100 adjudicators about SVA Holdings\u2019 management of innovation\ncapabilities is that its technology is as relevant to small enterprises as it\nis to large ones. \u201cThe technology platform works just as well with a company of\nfive vans as it does with a national retailer with 300 to 400 outlets,\u201d he\nsays. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>Perhaps it\u2019s time to\nmake a bold prediction: this won\u2019t be the last time that SVA Holdings comes up\nwith innovative technology that changes the face of risk management.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Winner of the Excellence in the Management of Innovation award for 2018, the category for large enterprises.
